Very funny -- and amazingly, I managed to play it without buffering!!! (I've got to buffer for approximately the length of a song or YouTube clip before it will play uninterrupted.) Sounds like Phil to me, but the not-buffering ... that must be the Spirit of Jerry rising from the Ganges to grant some entertainment today :-)

And no matter what early-era-only folks say, Lazy River Road is a treasure. An ethereally beautiful song. Jerry's ravaged later voice is just right for it; sung by the younger Jerry it would not work.

Yes, another pearl in the longest string of pearls I can imagine. My only quibble with your post - I think he could have sung it well in any era. His vocals always speak to me...

Yes, I agree. It goes along with my theory about Hunter losing the muse for a while and then getting it back :-)
I also think Jerry could have sung it any time, but the ravaged voice does have a special sound. Don't like the synth sounds, though ... is that all Vince? I haven't listened to much from this time.
